Perfect length, great color/shade of white. No plugs!? Thats perfection. My one complaint, it says it requires 3 AA batteries, but really it needs 4. Yeah, thats the limit of my complaints.The lights were bright but never shut down as advertised. They stated lit all day and night.These lights work great; they’re bright and I love that they’re bigger than most battery operated string lights. Plus, the different functions are nice too.However, I bought this particular string of lights because of the remote control and I am disappointed by it. How have to be about 6 feet away or closer for the remote to turn on the lights. Also, the buttons are inconsistent? I haven’t found one way that always works to turn the lights off... sometimes simply pressing the off button does not work.All in all, the lights work well and I suppose the remote is just getting what I paid for. If fiddling with the remote buttons as well as the short remote distance doesn’t bother you, then it’s a good string of lights.We were going to participate in a Christmas Golf Cart Parade in our community. We wanted to decorate the cart with lights so we went to our local stores that sold Christmas lighting. There wasn't much of a selection of battery operated lights an d they were very expensive. I found these lights on Amazon and could not believe how inexpensive they were compared to the stores I had visited! When I received them I was very impressed at the brightness and love the different settings. Our Golf Cart was all lit up and twinkling for the parade and we also received many compliments on how festive it looked. I am happy to report that the batteries lasted the whole night long and we have been enjoying our twinkling all through the holidays. If you are looking for battery operated lights, these are great!Used these lights on my garland over mantle. They are perfect! I am going to buy one more strand just so the amount of lights on garland matches the brightness on my tress.Updated review and added photo with two strands of lights. Only negatives are if you are good at hiding the heavy battery pack then it is difficult for the remote to work unless you get really close and aim right at battery pack. However you can just set it for the timer option so you don’t have to worry about using the remote daily.I bought these lights two years ago for two small Christmas trees in the front yard. I love that they operate on batteries, and that they lasted a month on one set of batteries! We have used these light sets two Christmases now, and they are still working great. I like that they are battery powered, so I don't have to string light cords out to the trees. The lights also have a built in timer so they come on after dark and turn off before daylight. Great functions, and several choices of light designs. Haven't found anything I don't like about them. When my trees get bigger, I will definitely by more of these. Would recommend to anyone.Item needs to be pressed against window to use remoteThese are great for a lot things. Decorating where there aren't any outlets so you don't have to use extension cords and have wires all over. I ordered the first set for a wreath on my front door. Then I ordered another set for a wreath in my attic, HOWEVER the remote won't work at a distance. you have to be very close to it for it to work. I plan on putting the second set behind my bar on the mirror.
